The school has been performing CLIL-teaching in English in some subjects since year 1994. The students to the CLIL class are admitted after a test. The subjects in which we perform CLIL-teaching are biology, geography, history and mathematics.

The teachers in Hakkari School wants to update their pedagogical skills to rise to the pedagogical challenges which come with the new national curriculum. The goals which we want to achieve with additional studies and courses are to enhance co-operation between teachers and to develop the whole working atmosphere, group dynamics and social skills in the school. Due to globalization and integration in Europe we also need to have new views regarding international relations. We aim to have international understanding as a natural part of all teaching and all subjects. New international contacts and co-operation between schools in different countries would certainly benefit Hakkari School.

The teachers want to join in additional training and courses. The new demands of the educational regulations have made it necessary to develop team teaching as means to give students the support they need. The teachers’ skills vary a lot and the whole school community would benefit from new methods and ideas. Special education is our area of expertise. Lempäälä as a community has been developing our school system for many years systematically. We have many good working models or developed processes to share.

The special areas of interests of Hakkari School are interactive social skills, pedagogy, team teaching, the teaching of foreign languages.

ABOUT SCHOOL

‘Sava Popovici Barcianu’ School is in a rural area situated in Rasinari, a beautiful village close to Sibiu. Our organization has 331students from kindergarten to 8th grade, from 3 to 14 years old, and the educational process is provided by 24 teachers. It has three components: the secondary school in Rasinari, the primary school in Prislop and Copacele nursery. Some of our students come from disadvantaged social and economical backgrounds and therefore the need of a quality education for them is even greater. School partnerships are good ways of helping these children become active and responsible for their actions, but they also contribute to their socio-economical integration. The majority of our students’ families are employed in agriculture, on small farms earning only what is necessary to survive. Some of them work in Sibiu, in services and industry. Sheep breeding is the main traditional occupation in Rasinari. Because of this, parents are often away from their homes so that many children are in a position where they have to stay at home alone after school. Hence such partnerships would definitely help them realize how important education is and how important it is to be able to learn alone, to be creative and to gain a sense of responsibility towards our society. Our school is ready to help, share happiness, find solutions, achieve or give knowledge and practice. Our aim is to promote the development of the knowledge, skills, understanding, values and actions required to create a thriving society, which ensures and promotes social equity and encourages economic sustainability.

ABOUT SCHOOL

We are a Portuguese school located in the north of Portugal, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, which is a strategic point in the centre of River Ave Valley (Vale do Ave). River Ave Valley was a dynamic and productive region and strongly industrialized. The activity sectors are mainly connected to industry (textile, clothing, shoes, electronics, and meat transformation), agriculture and services. However, due to a heavy recession in the industry sector, mainly in textile and clothing, some families are facing difficult problems because of the closing down of factories. In some cases entire families are facing unemployment, and serious financial problems, which undoubtedly affects some of our students.

V. N. de Famalicão is a modern city near the metropolitan area of O’Porto (where the well-known Porto wine is produced), the second most important Portuguese city, with a very young population. Because of that, it can play a key role in the development of the Northern region.

D. Sancho I Association of Schools (Agrupamento de Escolas D. Sancho I) is a public institution that resulted from an aggregation of different schools. This aggregation includes Escola Secundária D. Sancho I, which was founded in 1957 and is one of the oldest schools in the region and the first one to implement technical education. It is a post-elementary (7th, 8th and 9th forms) and secondary (10th, 11th and 12th forms) public institution with about 1980 students (for day and evening classes), whose ages range from 12 to 18 years old, and 200 teachers. Besides providing general teaching, it also provides vocational teaching in the areas of Electronics, Secretarial Studies, Accountancy, Laboratory Analysis, Management of Technological Equipment, Environmental and Rural Tourism, Automation and Computers, Telecommunications, Marketing, among others. It also has a long tradition in adult education for people belonging to different generations. It receives pupils from almost all the lower schools of the region and even outside the county. It is a school required by a lot of students because it offers a wide range of courses and also for the fact that it is the only official school with evening classes. Thus, the school works from 8.00am till 12.00pm continuously.

Although it is an ancient school, it was recently completely rebuilt, being nowadays a brand new school. It has good equipment, specific classrooms for the teaching of information and communication technologies, electricity, mechanics, physics, chemistry and biology, as well as other rooms and spaces for leisure and activities. It has a canteen, a bar, Orientation and Psychology Services and a highly attended library. Despite all the teaching activities, there are also several clubs working as well as the school newspaper and school sports.

ABOUT SCHOOL

Mazeikiai Senamiestis Low Secondary School is a public comprehensive school which tries to respond to the needs of nowadays society. There are about 500 students studying and 53 pedagogues working in it. Most of them are highly qualified specialists. The school is located in the old part of the city Mazeikiai, in the northern part of Lithuania. The school prepares students for the further studies in the gymnasium. High emphasis is on artistic trainings and how to relate theoretical knowledge to the practice. ‘Communication and collaboration are the most valuable features in the constantly changing society’. This is the school’s philosophy.

According to the national Curriculum entrepreneurship education is included. Economics and entrepreneurship is the compulsory subject for the 9/10th grade students (aged 15/16). The most successful experience in it is in the subjects of Geography and Biology, during their practical lessons. The teachers of these subjects have prepared activities and separate teaching fragments of economics and entrepreneurship under the particular topics. The teachers actively participate in the regional projects and initiate the smaller ones at school. Other school teachers are also aware of the concepts of entrepreneurship because of the national projects where they had possibility to know more about it. For instance, the last project involved many students and comprised Economics and Art and Design subjects. Children made decorated paper bags and sold them in some shops. We would like to share best practices and introduce entrepreneurship from an earlier age.

ABOUT SCHOOL

Our school was established in the year 2000 in Carbonia, a town set on the South-West of the island of Sardinia, in Italy. The school is named after Don Milani, the author of the famous Letter to a Teacher, a pedagogical classic that in 1967 foreshadowed most of the themes that became prominent in Sociology of Education. Since then, “Don Milani” Comprehensive School has had on average 600 pupils aged 03-14 yrs, attending kindergarten, primary and junior high school. The principal aim of the school is to provide the right environment for the individual talents of each pupil to get the best opportunity for development, in order to increase motivation and prevent dropping-out. The school aims to provide a balanced education in line with the National Curriculum (“Nuove Indicazioni Nazionali”) and the requirements of the local community. Through the school curriculum our pupils are encouraged to be effective learners and cooperative, responsible future citizens, with a caring attitude towards each other and a sense of social responsibility for the community and the environment.

Our school is set on an economically disadvantaged catchment area. In fact, a fierce crisis has affected the mining and industrial sectors which represented the traditional core of the local economy and the effort to develop alternative sectors such as tourism, crafts and agriculture still has to produce relevant effects. In our school there is a certain percentage of students coming from minorities and immigrant families. Their educational level is consider as low to medium. Also there is a significant percentage coming from families with different problems (separate parents, financial problems, students that stay with their grandparents, etc..) That's why our school has always tried to work in order to prevent drop-out and favour social mobility through education. According to Eurydice report "Entrepreneurship education at school in Europe" of February 2016, there is no relevant national strategy in Italy as far as entrepreneurship education is concerned. We want to introduce the skills and dynamics of entrepreneurship in our school .
